I, Lord: The survivor-led design journey - OUT NOW!

Updated: Jan 15

Happy New Year, one and all! We're aware that the festive season brings as many challenges as it does delights, and the turn from 2023 to 2024 will lead to many looking back with regret and forward with trepidation, even while others look back with pride and forward with eager anticipation. At RAT we try to remember to welcome all feelings, even though it's impossible not to enjoy some more than others...! After all, our bodies are sending us the signals we need to guide us in our next steps: they need the full range of our emotions to be able to do that.

So what better time to share with you one of the greatest prides of 2023, in eager anticipation of our 2024 run of I, Lord at the Space next month? That's right: at long last, we are ready to share with you the zine that brings together the artwork, poems, brainstorms, scribbles and musings from the survivor design workshops we held prior to rehearsing the show. We bring you, "I, Lord: The survivor-led design journey"!

We are so proud of and grateful to all the survivors who contributed to this process, and have been brave and generous enough to contribute their insights and creativity to this process. We're completely besotted with the outcome - but of course we're biased, and would be thrilled to hear what you make of it too! So if you could take a moment to let us know what you think, we'd absolutely love to hear from you.

Now - you couldn't possibly read that and then not book to see the show, could you? We're on at 7pm each night from Tuesday 13th to Saturday 17th February at the Space, 269 Westferry Road, London E14 3RS. Each show will be followed by half an hour of held space for anyone who wants to reflect on it with other audience members and some of the creative team - do have a look at the booking page for further accessibility information.

We are also soon to announce some post-show workshops, for survivors and for people in support roles to survivors, that will take place in the weeks immediately after the show, so keep your eyes peeled!
